America's sports car becomes America's supercar.
Set to be unveiled at the Boca Raton Concours in south Florida, this is Hennessey’s most powerful Corvette Stingray built to date. The HPE700 Twin Turbo Corvette C7's 6.2-liter V8 delivers 707 hp and 661 lb-ft of torque via a seven-speed manual or six-speed auto box. 0-60 mph is a claimed 2.9 seconds, the quarter mile is demolished in 10.5 secs @ 135.4 mph, and top speed should be in excess of 210 mph, faster than the Hennessey Stingray that recently broke 200 mph on a Texas toll road.
The handcrafted twin turbo system consists of 62 mm turbochargers producing 7 psi of boost. Mandrel-bent stainless-steel tubing has been used throughout along with dual turbo wastegates, while pop the hood and you’ll see twin blow-off valves on the intercooler’s aluminum plenum. “We’ve taken America’s sports car and transformed it into an American supercar,” said company founder John Hennessey, “and it’s a testament to the soundness of Corvette engineering that the new Stingray not only copes with this massive infusion of power, it seems to thrive on it.”
To keep the HPE700 C7 firmly planted on the tarmac, Hennessey added a carbon-fiber front spoiler, side sills and rear lip spoiler, along with a set of 10-spoke H10 forged alloys. Just 24 units of the HPE700 Twin Turbo Corvette are slated for production, priced at nearly $120,000 including the price of the base C7 with the Z51 pack.
